Lunchtime sushi in the EV
I have no trouble finding great sushi in the evening, but does anyone know of any spots in the East Village (or even the LES, but not too far south) that are open for lunch? Waiting for 5pm to get my sushi fix is beginning to affect my sunny disposition.
Thanks!

Have you tried Nori on 2nd Avenue? It's my go-to if I'm not up for Kanoyama's long waits at dinner. But they are open for lunch.

Kathryn, Is their anything you recommend in particular at Nori? Isn't this the place with the $1 specials? I've walked by it so often and wondered if it was worth checking out.

I really like the sushi omakase set. It's in the appetizers section (not sure why) but on a good day it's comparable to the Kanoyama set. Maybe a notch down, but still good.

I'm tempted to run right down there for lunch right now, but blizzard conditions probably aren't the best thing for fish deliveries...
