Burlington, Vermont Restaurant Recommendations

BruceFarr Feb 9, 2010 06:23 AM

Two clients of mine will be in Burlington next Monday and, because I live in southern VT, I'm not too familiar with a real representative restaurant in the city. I'm looking for something not too over the top, but solid, dependable food that might be inventive too. Any suggestions?

Off the top of my head in downtown Burlington:
    Single Pebble
    Trattoria Delia

If they're willing to drive about 26 miles:
Hen of the Wood in Waterbury

A lot of Burlington restaurants are closed on Mondays, but we had a great dinner at Daily Planet a few mondays ago. The atmosphere was nice, and their gnocchi with duck confit was absolutely to die for!

The Trattoria Delia is a crowd pleaser. It is authentic northern Italian cuisine and in my opinion one of the best restaurants in the state. A Single Pebble is authentic chinese and also one of the best. Hen of Wood is dynamite as well, but 30 minutes or so from downtown. I would also make reservations at all three, even for a Monday night dinner.

        A Single Pebble
