Headed back to Angelique this afternoon for a business lunch. It was truly great. I ordered the roasted chicken, which came with the perfectly pretty crispy, salty and thin French bistro fries. The chicken itself had a nice crust, was very juicy, and perfectly fit the bill. It was served with a strong brown/yellow mustard for dipping. The salad was also very nice -simple greens and tomatoes, with a honey mustard dressing. I was finally able to order the dressing on the side - I had tried before but failed to convey that adequately to the French waiters - and it was perfect when I could control the amount of dressing. My portion of the meal was $15, including the chicken, salad, and a soda. Very nice setting and great food.

Cheese plate next time!

Was there yesterday for lunch. I like it for a good cheap lunch spot.

I had a crouque monsieur with fries (YUM), my friend had the cold ham sandwhich on baguette, we both had a salad, sauted mushrooms, two teas, and the chocolate mousse. All for $30!!

Perfect.

I have no complaints about the food but you can't look too closely at the sticky table cloths, grimey floors, dirt layered walls, or the open drainage system in the kitchen.

Everything is completely filthy, particularly the food prep area. The place needs to be blasted with a firehose and scrubbed down by a clean team.

Last time I walked upstairs to the restroom I was so grossed out by the sights along the way that I lost my appetite. I've travelled and eaten extensively in Southern Asia so I'm not being a Nellie Olson -- it's just this place can't withstand the harsh light of day.

That said, when I got them home the chicken salad with mint and pate plate were divine. I love you cornichons, I love you!

Said it before, say it again: AC is as good as it gets. Glad you enjoyed it.

Croque Monsieur is state of the art. Charcouterie plate is simply outstanding -- chef-made pates, particularly the rillettes & country-style are splendid. Cheeses are well selected. Salad greens always fresh w classic vinaigrette. Chef's brother's baguettes are worth the drive themselves.

Eat thru the entire menu -- no disappointments, only joy, thruout. If only, if only ... they could open for dinner ... expand ... get their alcohol permit. But then, it wouldn't be AC ... & wouldn't be so inexpensive.
