Asadors en Madrid

I love the Chuleton @ Asador Fronton on Tirso Molina. Is it still good? Does anyone have any rec's for other Asadors? I'm not fond of places that serve it on a hot plate where you have to finish off the cooking.

    I don't eat meat myself, but a student has recommended this place - it's down the road from where I live, and it certainly has a very traditional look to it.

    1. If you are talking about Basque asadores like Frontón--and money is no object--I'd recommend either Julian de Tolosa and Asador Ansoreña. As I remember, neither delivers the meat to be cooked on the piedra.

      Asador de Aranda is a Castillian style asador for lamb... I much prefer Asador Tierra Aranda --order lamb kidneys (riñones) if they are available.

        Asador Tierra Aranda was the only asador I visited, but it certainly was wonderful. I still remember those riñones and morcilla.

      2. I had chuleton at Asador Fronton on Tirso last week and I thought that it was nothing special. Per your question- it was not served on a hot plate.

        1. Asador Ansorena, IMHO, is the best asador in Madrid for grilled meat.
