Rant: Pane e Vino, PVD, Email

invinotheresverde Feb 8, 2010 10:35 AM

Did anyone else receiving their Valentine's email promo notice they're charging $16 for a caprese salad? Sixteen bucks for some sliced cheese and tomatoes? In Providence? You've got to be kidding me.

I really used to love this place, but as their prices creep higher and the service gets worse (last three times service was downright BAD), I'm thinking they just aren't worth it anymore.

Totally agree with you $16.00 for tomatoes not worth anything this time of the year. Caprese Salad is a summer thing not in the middle of the winter the tomatoes are rock hard. I have access to every type of tomato grown this time of the year and they range from no to little flavor. Plus Valentines day is sucker day in restaurants flip them in flip them out.

I felt the need to respond to this even though the topic is years old now... The salad was meant for 2 guests to share as it was on V-day, $8.00 per person is an average price for a salad.
