Where can you buy Chipotle Paste in Calgary?

Have to admit I've never seen chipotle paste. You could buy a can of chipotles in adobo sauce and put it in a blender or small food processor for a few seconds. If it was too saucy, it could then be reduced.

Right I've seen chili paste in tubes in quite a few produce depts (where the fresh herbs are sold) but not specifically chipotle... Chipotles in adobo are pretty widely available too - although sometimes with the pickles etc and sometimes in the (poorly named) ethnic aisle... otherwise Cookbook Co I know has Chipotles in adobo, and ground chipotle.

You can get Chipotle in Adobo at the Marlborough Wal-Mart & the Creekside (far NW) Co-Op. I list these two only b/c I've bought it at both places. I'm sure you can get it at other places as well.

          Excellent! Creekside is convenient!

I have also never seen pre-made chipotle paste; I always make it by blending the entire can of chipotles in adobo in my Magic Bullet! I then freeze it flat (in a Ziplock bag) and break off chunks as I need them.

You are probably right. I thought I saw it on a TV cooking show but maybe it was just a chipotle pepper made into a past (as opposed to something you squirt out of a tube)... but doesn't the tube thing sound convenient????
