Several weeks ago, we noticed the sign on Rolly's Bistro off Rt. 130 in Cranbury had been changed to "Zinna's Bistro". We gave it a try recently. A chat with the waitress revealed that some of the Rolly's owners found a new partner, and changed the menu and theme of the restaurant to an Italian Bistro.

I hate to say it, but our meal was one of the worst in recent memory. We started with a salad, which featured greens with a very odd in-the-fridge-to-long taste. We put our salads aside, hoping for better luck with the next course.

I ordered Chicken Risotto. I sent it back, and I NEVER send dishes back. The rice tasted like unseasoned boiled white rice. The texture was all wrong. There were pieces of flavorless, tough chicken mixed in. Even the grated cheese on the table couldn't save it. Really, it was a disaster.

My wife ordered a pasta dish with sausage, roasted tomatoes, and garlic. The pasta was cooked properly al dente, but really was a nothing dish. Raw garlic. Bland. We split it because I sent back the risotto.

We asked for the check and left quickly to cut our losses at that point.

Too bad, I had high hopes.

I just got back from my shower and had the best experience. We had several courses. The food all tasted amazing. The service was great. Best of all was the wonderful dessert display. I couldn't have asked for anything more. Everyone was so impressed with the decor of the restaurant as well as the service and food... just fabulous!

I have been to Zinna's several times and have yet to be disappointed. I went in a few months ago to grab a sandwich on the run (had a great panini which lasted for the following days lunch it was so big!) and returned for a large dinner party last weekend. Made a reservation and was not let down. From the numerous appetizers we had to all of our entrees; there were no complaints! The staff is friendly and attentive, the food is fresh and well prepared and the atmosphere is great!

I've was lucky enough to fine this taste of Italy last week while on a business trip. I ate there Sunday, Monday, and Thursday. On Sunday only two of us were in town and showed up at 8:50 and were suprised that they would take us and we were not rushed through the meal.

On both Monday and Thursday, we took the entire team we were training, 18 of us and truly enjoyed both nights of food and atmostphere. From the appetizers to the main dishes, everyone was very pleased with the food from presentation, taste and the amount. Several of the men had to ask to take the leftovers back to the hotel room.

We will now use them for our dinners, but I see that have a catering menu and from the prices I will be able to get more bang for the companies buck.

If you haven't been there, you need to go and judge for yourself, and if you had a not so good time, I'd give it one more try as the desserts are out of this world.

Thank you Zinna's for great customer service, good food, and three wonderful evenings of dinning.

Bummer. Some of my coworkers were there for lunch this past week and I heard mixed reviews: a horribly overdressed salad, a decent panini, and good soup, and overall horrible service. I wasn't going to give too much weight to this review as it was a large group (20+) and I don't think that gives you an accurate picture of the service or food. Hopefully time will help... but now I'm not eager to go there...
