My hubby is hanging in Vegas for a trade show this week and in search of a great brew pub. Any recommendations? Anything local??

Thanks in advance from the Midwest

  1. 777 Brew Pub at the Main Street Station Casino downtown. Seems to attract locals and casino employees.

777 is a good recommendation if you're planning on being anywhere near downtown.

As far as on the strip there's not a whole lot to choose from. Pour 24 at New York New York has some good brews but it's more of a "beer kiosk" than an actual bar.

Further down the strip is the Yardhouse in the Town Square shopping area. They have a huge tap list but it can get a little pricey unless you go during happy hour. Also, it's located a couple miles south of Mandalay Bay so you'd either need a car or take a taxi or bus to get there. Even further down the strip (at the extreme far south end) about 10 miles away is the Hotel called M which has a casino bar called 32 Draft which has an excellent and large tap list.

Off strip places to go are the Freakin' Frog which is on Maryland Parkway across from the UNLV campus. A nice large selection of beers, although they can be a bit expensive as well. If he has access to a car he might want to try Aces n' Ales which is on Boulder Highway near Sam's Town. It's got a nice tap and bottle list and is reasonably priced.

    2. Whisper gave you a very good list. I can add only four.

The Brew Pub in Monte Carlo.
Draft House on Rancho north of Craig.
Chicago Brewing Company on Fort Apache and Sahara.
Gordon Biersch Brewing Company on Paradise near Flamingo.

Monte Carlo Brewpub closed in 2009, I think.

Ellis Island, the little casino behind Bally's hotel on Koval Lane, brews their own beer. They are famous for a very good $6.99 steak special that includes a glass of beer.
