Anyone try Bistro Grill's 5 Town's $8 specials?

I saw a big sign while driving by the Bistro Gril for their $8 specials. That sounds VERY reasonable ( I think takeout only?), but I wondered if they are any good? Decent portions? Anyone try it?

    1. The sandwiches are excellent. They're huge and well worth the money

I had the mergez sandwich. I can agree with molder on the taste...very good...but the size? Tiny, and I am not a big person with a big appetite. Left me wanting more than the 4 bites I took it down in.

My wife and I split a steak sandwich and a grilled checken sandwich. They were both huge and excellent.

I am thinking about getting the steak sandwich tonight, is the wait long? How does one order the sandwich, last time I went there was no takeout section.

My wife ordered them over the phone and asked that they be ready at 7 PM. On my way home from work I stopped off there (at about 6:55) and the sandwiches and fries were waiting for me (piping hot).

There's no takeout section. I went to the rear of the restaurant (near the bar) and my stuff was on the bar awaiting pickup.

I called tonight at 6pm and ordered two steak sandwiches. They said that it will be ready in 10-15 minutes. I told them I will be over at 6:30. When I came the sandwiches were waiting for me at the front. When I got home (a 5 min ride) the food was nice and warm. The food was very tasty and not too small. I certainly got my monies worth and plan on ordering from them in the future. I hope the price remains at this level. In general Bistro Grill is my favorite place to go out for steak partly because they make great steak and partly because it is 5 minutes away.

Thanks "eatgood" for the heads up!

Marty, im soooo upset. for over a year now ive been reading your posts and everytime i read them i crack up and say "i've got to meet this guy"

while the above post may not be funny, it pisses me off because.......i was there at 6:15pm

i also got the steak sandwich special. with tax it came to $8.70 and it was outrageous. the creamy pesto sauce that they add to the sandwich gave an amazing flavor to it, and it wasnt overstuffed, which means it didnt fall apart (good thing cuz i ate it while driving home)

i highly recommend the $8 specials, and i will definitely be going back, which pisses me off even more because i HATE the owner.

I can only imagine how many times I was probably standing next to Marty in the kosher area at Costco

        2. LOVE. Great deal, great food. We;ve tried the breakfast burger (thick juicy burger with a sunny-side-up on top), merguez sandwich (with a terrific horseradish sauce on top), bbq burger, a few dif kinds of chicken sandwiches. The pasta and salad specials were just passable - but all the sandwiches are amazing. The portions are large, on crunchy baguettes or soft burger buns. They came with a choice of fries or salad. Really an outstanding value.
