Brown spots on bottom of atlantis saute pan

After browning some meat in my demeyere atlantis saute pan (layered disk bottom), I noticed the bottom of the pan (outside bottom where gas flame touches) has a few small dark brown spots. Is this normal? Will it come off? Does it indicate damage?

I tried BKF and it took the spots right off. Maybe it was just some oil that got around to the bottom side.

It usually is just oil, that's all. I have the same pans and at most, these just require a little BKF or elbow grease to clean up.
