Vanderbilt Area

Will be in Nashville next week. Looking for good places to eat, nothing too fancy. In fact some good chowhound unpretentious places would be perfect. I have searched to message board but don't know which places are near the Vanderbilt area. Thanks

SATCO has really gone downhill over the years, but Rotier's has my favorite burger that I've found in Nashville. There are some good cheap eats on the south side of the campus, on Belcourt, like Dog of Nashville.

Vandy area is a great place for some casual but trendy meals. Go to 21st Ave for Jackson's, Fido, Bosco's, Sam's (perfect for grabbing a beer and watching a game if anything is on while you're there). Belmont Blvd near Vandy has some great places too - PM is great sushi and Bongo Java is a cool coffeehouse. Rumba on West End is also one of my favorites.
