What is acceptable for boiled peanuts?
I want to make a batch of boiled peanuts (after having spent the last week reading raves about the things). but do not have access to raw/green peanuts. They are not available where I live (Ontario,Canada).
So my question is what type of peanut can I substitute? raw shelled? dried? roasted in shell?
Look for plain, dry, in shell peanuts....Soak several hours.. up to 10 or overnight to re-hydrate...Proceed with boiling...They are good, but not as good as the green peanuts dug in the early fall in my area......Photo is of "green" boiled p-nuts! ~~ Sometime consider boiling in Crab boil for a nice change!!
