Reccomendations for Lunch in Federal Hil or Thayer Street Tomorrow

SaraASR Feb 5, 2010 12:22 PM

Title basically says it all! Taking a little daytrip tomorrow and exploring both neighborhoods of Providence. Where would you suggest lunch? Open to any type of cuisine, just want a delicious, reasonably priced meal that's something "special? that I can't get in Boston.

Also interested in sweet/bakery recommendations. Thank you very much!

I really like Mediterraneo on Federal Hill. There are a bunch of italian options. You must go into the italian markets (Tony's Colonial!!! Venda Ravioli!!!) further up the street on the right, and of course the bakery - Pastiche!!!

I've been wanting to try Pane e Vino for a while now...

Thayer St is a college area. some nices places though Federal Hill I would suggest for lunch Venda jyst the Aroma will send you crazy. Everything is made Ala Minute. Simple pastas etc. and not expensive. There a lot of places there for lunch but when you walk into Venda you will see for yourself. Most places offer 3 courses for the $15..00 range forget it venda never wained to the get them in get them out routine. Big plus its safe.on Fedral Hill.

Didn't go to any of the above... a day too late! Great for future reference, though! We actually went to Blue Ginger in Wellesley MA.
