Just walked by the new place coming soon to Bedford Street. Menu looks OK. Hopefully they'll have a real flatbread hearth and pizzas akin to the good American Flatbread locations.

Oddly, Sandella's is now closed. They didn't even make it a year. They seemed to do a pretty good lunch business, so I was somewhat surprised when I discovered it.

Stopped just before noon and ordered a pesto chicken and mozzy flatbread. Was served in a few minutes. A 7 inch round cut in six slices... very tasty and fresh, piping hot. Like having a personal pizza for 5.99! Great value and good for a lunch on the run. Clean as a whistle.

Two negatives...

the flatbread was grilled a tad soft, so a balancing act to keep the toppings on.

When I left the line was out the door.... and moving slowly.

Opened last Thursday. I met the owner. Seems nicer than Cosi, I'll definitely be going back again.

The franchise headquarters is in Redding, CT. They had a test-store open to the public there but I haven't been in years so I don't know if it's still there. It was actually pretty good and I thought it could be a successful franchise, but I didn't know if/where they had opened others.
