Reasonable Wine Lists on the Strip...specifically curious about Daniel Boulud Brasserie

I’ve done quite a bit of menu viewing, but wine lists seem to be absent online for this city….at least for the restaurants I’ve been looking at.

After two trips to Vegas with my now husband and being denied a fine dining meal, I finally get to choose a restaurant for this trip! I’m trying to choose a restaurant where the food only price will be in the $75 to $100 per person range…funny how many places that rules out in Vegas…

That being said, wondering if anyone has any opinions on the wine lists at the better restaurants on the Strip.

I am a big fan of restaurants that make a point to put some affordable (thinking $30-$50), yet delicious red wines on their list.

I am strongly considering Daniel Boulud Brasserie, but have no idea what to expect as far as the wine list goes. If you have any insight on the list there or any other restaurants pairing a great wine list with great food I would love to hear it.

Thanks!

    1. Mario Batali's venues (Enoteca, B&B, Carnevino) all have reasonably priced wine for Vegas. They were actually recognized by Wine Spectator as places to find value wines. Finding a bottle in your price range won't be an issue at one of those venues. You will definitely be able to stay within your food budget as well. Enoteca is on the casual side and I would hesitate to call it "fine dining" although the food for me has been stellor.

Wynn restaurants (such as DB) tend to have higher-priced wine lists. That said, you will have choices within your price range just not as many. I think that Bouchon has as good, if not better food than DB and a number of reasonably priced wines. You may also consider that DB is shutting its doors soon which should not be and issue, but you never know in this economy.

          Thanks for the info.

I didn’t realize DB was closing…does make me a bit nervous when only choosing one good restaurant for the trip.

Bouchon is on my radar, but the dinner menu doesn’t appeal to me quite as much. Thanks for the info though. Will check out what the Batali spots have to offer as well.
