Dumb question about Beverly Hills Hotel afternoon tea...
My mom wants to do the high tea sitting at the B.H. hotel for her 84th birthday in March.
Never having been there and being on a sugar-free, wheat-free eating plan, can I just order a Pellegrino or coffee while she has her tea/sandwiches/scones, etc.?
I just want her to have a great time, and don't want to put a damper on it if they require I order the same thing. I know I'm probably worrying about nothing.
Thanks in advance.
Hi Shelleykelly, I had afternoon tea at Gordon Ramsay's The London Hotel in West Hollywood a few months ago, and they serve and charge per person with no requirement that everybody present must order tea. If the hotels in Beverly Hills are the same way, which I'm pretty sure they are, you should have absolutely no problem. You could even mention that you have diet restrictions, in case they think you're going to be cheap and pilfer off your mom. Hope you have fun!
P.S. Oh, and by the way, if you know which hotel(s) you want to consider, you can Google their websites; many hotels post their afternoon tea details online (menu, price, hours of service). Also, most places require a reservation, so when you call them you can always ask them about your concerns first. My experience with The London's phone reservation service was excellent; they were so cordial and polite and thoughtful, as an upscale hotel ought to be.
