  1. I've only seen it at JF but I could be mistaken. In my opinion, the crawfish bread is not near as good as it used to be. It was always on my list of things I had to eat and I would always get some to go to have later that night, but those days are over. I just don't find it as good as it once was.

    1. sadly, no. while i will agree w/ the general opinion that its not as good anymore (currently less cheese, more bread?), its still an awesome idea that really *should* be all over the city. street vendors, even. and yet... it isnt.

i actually prefer the shrimp bread from the same JF vendor. that too would be something one would expect as street food in new orleans. but except for hot dogs and snowballs in certain neighborhoods, there really isnt much for street food in new orleans. maybe too much actual dining? dunno why.

      1. re: kibbles

By City ordinance, Lucky Dog is the only permitted purveyor of street food in the Quarter. Aren't we lucky. When the Council passed the ordinance, it forced someone else out, and the case went all the way to the US Supreme Court. City of New Orleans v. Dukes, 427 U.S. 297 (1976).

      2. The newly redone (to me anyway) in the French market right across from Margaritaville has a lot of new food vendors at least 2 were advertising crawfish bred when I was there last weekend.
