Visiting NYC in March, Birthday Dinner: Aroma or Via Emilia?

Any recent dining experiences for the two restaurants posted above? I'm treating 3 friends to a birthday dinner (Sunday Evening) and would like to keep the price range between $200 - $250.00 including a bottle of wine. Any other recommendations within the same restaurant style (cuisine) & price range would be considered as well. Thanks a bunch!
