Chowish place to watch the Superbowl in Santa Fe, ABQ, or nearby?

Hi all,

I've got a friend visiting this weekend who loves football and great food. Anyone have any suggestions for a place, preferably in Santa Fe, but anywhere within an hour's drive, where we'll be able to watch the Superbowl and still have some reasonably good chow?

    1. I assume you mean a sports bar or the like?
Turtle Mountain on Southern Blvd in Rio Rancho [just west of 528] has good food and should have the game on.

I will look around for others.

Sports bar is fine, but doesn't need to be. Would love a place with a few medium-size tvs, good food, and a vibe that would be more fun than my house (where we're not huge sports fans).

Turtle Mountain looks about right -- makes me think Santa Fe Brewing Co. or 2nd Street Brewery will likely have the game on too. Thanks, and thanks in advance if you think of other ideas.

Wound up going to both SFBC and 2nd Street.

SFBC had a tremendously excellent green chile cheeseburger and a huge projection screen, but beers were vaguely lackluster. 2nd Street had slightly more interesting beer and significantly more interesting food, TVs were perfectly adequate.

We enjoyed both places, but would be a little more likely to return to 2nd Street.

Thanks again for the ABQ rec -- definitely on my list to try in the future.

We should have a get together for Santa Fe/ABQ chowhounds.

Sounds like a great idea! Feel free to email me if you'd like help coordinating (address in profile) or just post a time and I'm sure the mods can "sticky" it.

I'd personally lobby for ABQ (I feel like both quality and QPR tend to be better there), but certainly wouldn't complain about SF...
