Downtown wedding dinner recommendations?
My fiance and I are getting married at the federal courthouse downtown in a few weeks and need a lovely restaurant that will take a party of ten on a Friday evening. We want something delicious, memorable, not too stuffy, not too loud - suggestions much appreciated!

Capsouto Freres is worth considering. The room is really lovely, the food is good, and the owners are gracious and welcoming. Take a look at their menu on the web. I think they make the best souffles in town, fwiw.

We had a family event for about 12 people at Capsuto Freres last year and it was pretty awful. The space is nice, and the souffles are indeed good, but the rest of our food was like hotel wedding food. They made a mistake in our favor on the bill which we did not catch and sent some poor waiter running after us down the street to get our credit card back so he could charge us some more. THe whole experience was dissapointing. I would look into City Hall restaurant. Also Locanda Verde has a great private room that might work for you.

Oh I'm sorry to hear that. The lat time I had a group meal there was also about a year ago and we enjoyed it. I'm sorry you didn't like the food but I don't think you should condemn a restaurant for making an innocent mistake on the bill - mistakes happen.
Blaue Gans is another one to consider - I went to a dinner there also last year and they put up a sort of a screen to section off for our party of about 14.
