Looking for early morning soccer bar

bmore_flavor Feb 2, 2010 07:12 PM

Friends and I are coming up from Baltimore early Saturday March 13th for the Flyers game. We are staying in Center City and want to find a bar (soccer or oyster) preferably to pre-party before taking the train to the Wachovia center. Any options? I'd be down for any soccer, hockey, or Belgian beer, o, or oyster themed spots that open early on Saturdays!

Monks Cafe is the best place for Belgian beer. Located at 16th and Spruce. It opens 11:30 am on Saturday. Is that early enough?

We were thinking of getting to Philly at 9:30am or so. A lot of soccer games are aired early morning due to the time difference from Europe. Any bars open early on days like this for the soccer fans? We are def hitting Monks, but after the game.

the dark horse used to open at 7 for international rugby matches, i think they used to do the same (probably still do) for important soccer matches.....

yeah, just checked their event schedule....they open up on saturday morning this week at 7.45 for liverpool v everton. they make a good irish breaskfast, a good burger and damn good shepherd's pie. and there are darts!

Yes, I just checked out their site, I will be calling them in a few weeks to see what the sport schedule is for the day I'm in town, thanks for the tip!

Brauhaus Schmitz on south street opens frequently for bundesliga (german soccer?) on Saturdays, I believe at 930am. Great beer selection. I would check their website or give a call closer to that day.

Aside from the places mentioned, Tir Na Nog opens early for soccer and the food is pretty solid. I like the eggs benedict, Irish breakfast, and shepherd's pie.
