Which Indian Buffet in St. Louis Park is better?

Planning to meet a friend for lunch tomorrow and want to hear which buffet is better.
Best of India on Minnetonka Blvd
Taste of India on Wayzata Blvd (394 frontage rd)

I know that all Indian buffets start to blend together, but my husband and I really liked Surabhi in Bloomington recently and felt it had a different take than we'd experienced before.

Thanks in advance for your two cents!

  1. They're prob basically the same, but I've enjoyed 'Best of India' several times recently and had quite good luck. They usually have a curry goat that is good, and all of their veg dishes are delicious. Also: you can go to Axman after your meal!

Been years since I went to the buffet at Taste, but I did get takeout from there a few weeks back and it was just fine, too.

    1. I think I prefer the food at Best of India by a hair, but I must admit to being a little skeeved out about the place the last few times that I've eaten there. I don't know what it is - perhaps it's the fact that it's usually almost empty and I'm concerned that the food has been sitting around for a while. Also, the location of the buffet - in the back of the restaurant - does not add to the ambiance.

If you can overlook these things, I think the food ends up being a bit more interesting at Best of India than at Taste of India. Plus, it's across the street from Four Firkins.

      1. It's not in SLP, but we've been to Bukhara Indian Bistro several times now and have been pleased/impressed each visit. They have a larger selection of items than ToI (not familiar with BoI).

Taste of India has really scaled back on the variety of dishes they offer--don't seem to rotate in some of my favorites any longer.

Bukhara also does their lunch buffet 7 days a week.

Do any of these do a dinner buffet?
