Event space in Brookline/Newton/W.Rox
I'm looking for a restaurant/location in the Brookline, Brighton, Newton, West Roxbury area to hold a 60th birthday party for my mother. There will be approx. 40-50 guests, and the tricky part is that we're hoping for a Saturday night. Obviously this requires a location that has a private space.
I'm aware of West on Centre (which has a really nice room downstairs), but unfortunately they are booked on our preferred date.
Any thoughts?! Thanks in advance.

Not in your preferred location but not too far -Blue Ginger in Wellesley has rooms which I believe seat that # of guests.

Townsends in Hyde Park now has their "Fairmount Room". It's the upstairs of the restaurant, and is really inviting. I have not been to a function there but I've eaten down in the restaurant/bar and it is very good. They do beer/wine only though.

I will second Sofia's. Although i haven't been there since the name change, i have been there when it was vintage and it was beautiful.

May be too big / too much but look up longwoodevents.com and check Veronique. It's at the Longwood T Stop. Beautiful room.
I think Elephant Walk might work too.
