Schnitzel Sandwiches / Burgers in Downtown Vancouver?

Does anyone know where one can get a Schnitzel Sandwich or Schnitzel Burger in Downtown Vancouver (or surrounding areas)?

I found out that you can get frozen schnitzels from "Choices", but was looking for more of a take-away meal for lunch, etc.

For something a little different, but still in the same vein: there is a Japanese cafe that ck1234 posted about here: http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/683927 that has katsu sandwiches ("katsu sando") - basically pork schnitzel sandwiches...listed as "Japanese Style Pork Cutlet" for $7.50. I haven't had it there yet.

ok- there is a deli with a somewhat ' bavarian ' / scandanavian flavour to it in the harbour centre food court ( front entrance: w. hastings & seymour. back entrance: w. cordova between richards & seymour ) that does a reasonably good schnitzel burger deal most days- monday thru friday. this place has been in the same location for MANY years. right next to the washrooms- altho don't let that fact detract you.

you can get a decent shnitzel sandy at the family gourmet in royal centre....I also used to get a mean schnitzel sandy at a cafe at the corner of richards and dunsmuir...I think it was called Suzette's....haven't been there in a long time though.

There is Schnitzelz on Denman St. downtown. It's been so long since I've had one there I really couldn't comment on the quality...

I think Schnitzelz is closed (..it's the curse of the inappropriate "z"). The Alpen Club's restaurant (Deutches Haus) is open for lunch now....pretty good deals too ($11 for a Schnitzel meal over lunch).

I just edited mine because I saw they are open for lunch! Do they still have the picnic table seating where you have to sit at a communal table or am I dating myself again?

They have those in the big hall. The restaurant (on the side) has regular booths, 2-tops and 4-tops.

When we used to go for dinner that's where we ate then. My boyfriend stopped us going because he wanted a private table and couldn't stand dining at the communal table but I loved the schnitzel. Maybe they didn't have the restaurant to when I'm thinking back to?

The restaurant is a relatively new addition.

A couple of recs that are a bit of a distance from downtown: you can get schnitzel at the Danube (East Hastings at Boundary Rd) and the Vancouver Alpen Club (Victoria and 33rd)....does anyone know if Refuel is still doing their schnitzel sandwiches (from the Fuel days)?

attached is a pic of the schnitzel at the Danube:
