Tips for Dining, Eating, and Food Shopping in Manhattan

Need veal & beef bones for stock - any suggestions?

I need some veal and beef marrow bones to make a brown stock for a dinner I'm putting together for some friends. Can anyone recommend a place where I can get some? It would be best if it were a butcher shop that would cut the bones down for me - seeing as I don't have a dependable bone saw at home. Places in the UES would be best, but anywhere in Manhattan would be great. Thanks.

    1. Try Conte's on York 7 89th or try Lobell's...or any other good butcher...maybe Agata...

          Thanks. Those were first on my list. Does anyone know of any of those are a particularly great value for bones?
