Edmonton RROTM - February discussion

Last months L2Grill was not as popular as past reviews. I ended up being out of town for most of Dec & Jan so have not been to the last 2 RROTM.

here is the list from last month:

The Bothy
Guru
Furasato
Habesha
Irie

if there are no new suggestions, then I will just throw these into the randomizer and choose from there.

Maybe we can schedule Habesha for April? (I will be away in March and I don't want to miss it!)

Never made it to L2 despite good intentions to do so. I am REALLY looking forward to trying the Bothy having met the owners at ...Indulgence I think....before it opened. Is it open to minors? I think not - but I am not sure. That fact could affect who will try it out as at least some of us chowhounds like our kids enough to feed them well :-)

I have been to Habesha and Irie (many times in the old location...new one on Whyte was not open ten days ago when I drove by) already but will delay my comments until month end if either is chosen. I suggest we not do Irie until we know the new location is open.

I don't like Furasato and have said so on this board. My opinion is not shared universally.

From this stream of conciousness, I am drawn to the Bothy and it gets my vote. it is new, it is different and it has really good booze. ...I shall say no more.

I would love to go to the bothy. If this is a good indication, then I say skip the randomizer and lets do it!

Sounds good to me, although I'd still like to hit up one of the city's Ethiopian restaurants during our adventures here.

I vote for Habesha or The Bothy. I think they are more in the price range of chowhounds than L2 grill. I pray to the Food Gods/(esses) that Habesha has faster service than Langano Skies

The service at Habesha is about 10% faster in my opinion. Every Ethiopian restaurant I've ever been to is slow. Sorry.
