Best Chicken in Mississippi
Ok fans of the yard bird- who has the best? My personal favorite is the Old Country Store in Lorman, but I like it as much for the atmosphere and the cobbler as I do the chicken.
What would be your favorite place to go and get some knuckle-sucking good fried chicken?

I agree with your initial pick! The Old Country Store has the juiciest, crispiest, most delicious fried chicken. Although I have had the Round Table recommended to me as well, I just haven't made it there yet.

re: fat harry
The Round Table is outstanding. The only parachute manufacturing plant in the US was in Columbia before WWII and so many workers moved there during the war a lady opened her home as a restaurant.

There is a little place about 30 miles south of Natchez in Woodville that has the best Fried Chicken I have ever had. It's called The Back Porch and is located at the intersection of Highways 61 and 24. It's behind the 3 Way Texaco. Open for breakfast and Lunch until about 1:30pm.

I would have to say the Crystal Grill in Greenwood serves up the very best fried chicken to my knowledge. Of course my knowledge is limited and there may be finer places in the Great State of Mississippi I have not tasted.

Have to agree Clark...Arthur Davis' version at the Old Country Store has to be some of the best. ...I thought about Pop-Eyes, but that's a chain...What came to mind was a an old friend/coworker Aunt's place up in Brandon..Just off the Square on Black Street...If you didn't know the little place was there you would never guess...no sign..nothing...just and old building. Small inside...maybe three or four tables...three or four booths...a short bench at the counter...A mostly open kitchen with chicken being pan fried in CI skillet. Not sure if she's still there...Don't recall her given name....everyone called her Aunt Baby Ruth...Ask a local...they will know her and point you in the right direction... Loved her fresh fried chicken!!! has to be in my top 5 for sure.....

re: Uncle Bob
This might make you feel better- went by a place on Old Canton Road in Jackson called the Rotisserie on Friday. It is where Acapulco Nando's and more recently a BBQ place were located, just a little bit north of County Line.
Obviously, it ain't fried chicken, but it was so good that I had to go again today! Wonderful juicy chicken- go ahead and get the 1/2 as the 1/4 will leave you wanting more!
And the best part is, since it isn't fried, my wife allows me to go there!
