Quick, good food in Mazatlan ZD

jeanneV Jan 31, 2010 03:09 PM

After some great recommendations for restaurants from Chowhound and Lonely Planet, I am left with another food question: Can you provide some recommendations for some good, quick food in the ZD? Often when traveling with kids, time can be of the essence when locating food - so, would like to be armed with some good food choices in the ZD not just outside. Thanks for your help!

I'm with Dee. What do you mean by "quick food"? Also, what do you mean by "good"? Mexican? American"? Gourmet? etc.? And the ZD is actually a large area. Do you want to be able to walk to the restaurant(s) from your hotel, or are you willing to take a bus or taxi/pulmonia? If the former, where will you be staying? And what kinds of food do you and your kids like? The more specific you are the more likely you'll get a useful response. A simplistic response is to walk out of your hotel and walk into the closest restaurant to you, which will be, usually, no more than 100 feet away.

I'm not sure what you mean by "quick good food." Are you looking for tacos and burgers (all over the place) or actual meals in sit-down restaurants? One place that is popular with a lot of people is Ana's. It is a buffet with a huge number of choices. On certain days they have Chinese food, always have ribs I think, stews and other meat and poultry dishes, and a variety of veggies, salads, desserts, etc. They weigh the food you pick up, and charge by weight. Very inexpensive. Eat in or take out. I believe it is open for lunch only, until 3 or so, but can get more info if you are interested in that type of place.
