Fuzion on church - Martini Thursdays - not all they're cracked up to be.

  • 3

Went to Fuzion for their $6 martini Thursday last week.

Ordered 7 martinis between 2 people.. was past tipsy, but still able to ride my bike home.

Got the bill 7 x $11 for 3oz martinis - (not on special) = over $100 with tax+tip.

Call me crazy, but after 9oz/12oz of liquor respectively (and no dinner), neither of us would have been able to walk out the door (let alone cycle home).

I feel completely ripped off.

  1. I was supposed to go to this event, but after your post, am glad that I didn't!

How did they get away with charging for $11 martinis when they were advertised as $6? Did you complain?

Am also curious if you stayed for the free manicures that were advertised?

the tinis are only $6 for 6 certain ones from a certain menu. $11 for a 3 ounce martini is still a very, very good price, but usually the price in that hood for a 2 ounce martini, keeping in mind what an actual martini is, not the 'martini' cocktails that are normally consumed and promoted around town

It was my mistake for not very specifically saying - this is the $6 martini right?
In Montreal, I'd have done that - in Toronto, it is frowned upon.

The option for a 2 or 3 oz martini was not offered - we were just served (or billed) the "3" oz.

AND.. as I stated. I call "hooey" on that being a 3oz martini - I have a low tolerance for alcohol, and was able to walk out of there - hence I did not drink 9oz of liquor.

My totally unsubstantiated suspicion is that they bumped up the drinks based on the fact that we didn't order food. Or I suddenly developed a massive tolerance for alcohol. Either way, I'm not returning. They probably don't want my business anyhow.
