BBQ in Orlando

Hi,
there are lots of topics of BBQ in Orlando - but most of them are not so actual and might be outdated...

Thats the reason I´d like to ask for a good BBQ in Orlando for next saturday.

Thanks a lot for your help and assitance.

Greetings from germany
Peter

I agree with the posts here regarding Four Rivers Smokehouse BBQ. Insanely popular, and deserving of all the recognition. The brisket rocks, especially without the sauce (outside tables have all the sauces on display.....try them separately & see which you like). The mac & cheese is not very good & the sweet potato casserole is only just ok. Consider the baked cheese grits, bbq beans, smokehouse corn, or cornbread salad. I think you'll like 'em. Enjoy!!!

    P.S.
Cecil's BBQ on Michigan & Orange is pretty awesome as well, especially their ribs and brisket. It's Texas style, so if that's your thing, give it a try too.

4 Rivers is the bomb, but I agree Cecil's is right up there in my book.

Doesn't get better than Four Rivers Smokehouse these days. Be prepared to wait, but it's worth it. :)

I just this minute got back from shooting my show On Dining there. Not only is the brisket great, but you've got to try the smoked jalapenos wrapped in bacon.

i concur, the smoked jalapenos are addictive. Brisket is great as well. I think the housemade bbq sauce is a bit sweet for my taste. I order the brisket sans sauce. If you are ordering by the lb, they will trim the fat off if you ask them.

Why would you do that? Fat = Flavor!!!!

it's been cooked for hours with the fat on, so the flavor is all there. I do it because I want more meat in the lb, all the fat is not trimed away, just the big hunks of it. It's the same reason you wouldn't want a big hunk of fat in your sandwich.

You can have the fat trimmed away even when you're ordering one portion. They always have both kinds on the cutting board and fill orders to request.

Hounds, I usually don't mention my TV show in detail on this board because I fear it's inappropriate, but my Four Rivers Smokehouse piece aired today and it shows the owner pointing to the fattier and leaner parts of the brisket and explaining how each guest can choose which he wants. The show is on "on demand" 24/7: Bright House Digital Cable channel 300, Food, On Dining, Four Rivers, then press Enter twice.

Went back again last night, I do have to caution people to check their to-go orders, got home and my Jalepeno Peppers somehow didn't make it into the bag. Put me in a funk for 30 minutes, thinking about what I was missing out on. Tried the carrot cake last night and would rate it as just average.

No. You can only see the show on a TV that gets Bright House Digital Cable. Visit a friend who has it!

I really want to check this place out b/c everyone recommends it, but every time I've tried to go I get so frustrated and angry that there is no where to park and drive off to another restaurant. I think it is the stupidest location I've ever seen and it really turns me off to trying it. I feel sorry for the poor people who live down that street. I'm going to have to go at a really obsecure time.

maybe they didn't expect it to be as insanely popular as it is? They seriously will need to expand soon, the current setup (although quaint) can't possibly keep up with the demand. Either way, go right after work around 5-5:30, the parking & the line wasn't bad then.

They didn't expect it to be as insanely popular as it is. Parking is a problem, but the restaurant has arranged for its customers to park at the church across Fairbanks and the business across another street at certain times, and will soon have someone showing you where to park at the busiest times. So try again!

The hubby and I went to the downtown BBQ and Blues festival over the weekend and 4 Rivers was one of the vendors catering so we were able to finally sample the BBQ they serve. EXCELLENT! We had the beef brisket and pulled pork sandwiches. I've never had brisket like that before. Also tried the smoked jalapeno poppers which were wonderful. We spoke to the owner and he did say they are already in the process of looking for a bigger location. We befriended a couple visiting from North Carolina and they ordered food from 4 Rivers and thought it was some of the best they've ever had as well. I
