Monday Night, Steak or Mexican with College Hoops?

  • 4

Going to be in Vegas at TheHotel starting tomorrow and want to watch the Texas basketball game. I'd like to get a great steak or quality mexican while doing so. Any suggestions?

Before I found out the game was at 5pm, I was going to goto either Stripsteak or Charlie Palmers.

  1. You can adjust your watch a little - the game will tip off at 6 PM Las Vegas time. But unfortunately Charlie Palmer is not an option - both the restaurant and lounge are now closed on Sunday and Monday nights, and I do not believe that Stripsteak has any televisions. But for your purposes Border Grill could work out fine - a nice bar area to watch the game, and "decent" Mexican (they play it just a little safe because their audience are mostly tourists).

actually, the game will tip@5pm. I might just suck it up and watch the game@ Cesars or one of the better sportbooks and then grab dinner after. I was hoping I could do both.

For clarification, you can check with the sports book when you arrive and you will see the 6 PM Pacific tipoff; if it matters Texas has opened as a 1.5 point favorite. That will put you in a prime dinner range, and if you are willing to venture down the strip there are a variety of Steakhouses that do have televisions - Craftsteak (MGM Grand), Joe's Prime Steak and Seafood and The Palm (both in the Forum Shops at Caesar's Palace), Delmonico (Venetian), Cut (Palazzo), Carnevino (Palazzo), and Country Club Grill (Wynn) would all fit the bill.
