Best thing I've ever eaten in Albany--Short ribs braised in Rioja, Cafe Madison

Six-top at Cafe Madison the other evening, hanger steaks, cassoulet for the others, but for me the short ribs braised in Rioja. This was the best dish I've ever eaten in any Albany restaurant, a huge, unctuous portion, kicked up with jalapeno slices, served with a mess of duck-fat-fried (?) potatoes. I think this store-front bistro has come into its own; service, price, all make this a favorite. 3 courses per, two bottles of wine, tip, about $70/pp.

  1. Thanks PSZaas. Haven't eaten there in a long while, will have to put it back on the radar! Used to hit there for brunch, always excellent.

      1. Thanks for the report, PSZaas. I still have not been to Cafe Madison and those ribs with jalapenos sound like they'd be perfect for SO.
