I agree on Rio Mar. Also, Bon Ton is not that far if you are in the downriver sections (A,B,C)

Nola Grocery, next to Cochon Butcher, made a great crawfish po boy when I was there last April. We ate the sandwich and shared a bottle of champagne in the lovely park across from the convention center; it was one of the nicest meals that week!

Nola Gro now has a handful of tables & has expanded. I did see a sign for the crawfish poboy last week.

They were in the process of expanding when we were in town over Christmas. We stopped in after lunch at Cochon just to show our friends another good food place, but the only thing we bought was some kind of fried pie that a local friend had recommended. I don't remember the name of it, but it's a commercial product, and our friend says it's what Hostess fried pies WISH they could be...and she was right!

Must have been a Hubig's.

I think that was it. We got chocolate, sweet potato, apple, and peach (one for each of us) then nuked them back at the condo for bit as a late-night treat. They were pretty good!

Those are definitely Hubig's flavors. Just polished off the last one I brought home after the Superbowl. Tried the pineapple, which I don't recall from when I was a kid, didn't have much pineapple taste. But the rest where everything I remember and I always get at least one when I am in town.
If you are there in season, the strawberry and blackberry (maybe raspberry) are good.

Hubig's blackberry pies are seasonal. HU-DAT is stamped on the wrapper right now. I don't know how long they will be doing that.

That what I meant by being there in "season". They need to put the Hu Dat on their t-shirts.

They do:

Nice shirt and I may have to purchase one before the NFL clamps down as they use the Saints logo on the shirt. lol
