One Lunch in Charlotte
Going to be in Charlotte on Tuesday on business and have a couple hours for a good lunch before flying home. The company is paying, so we're looking for a great meal that really gives us a good taste of the city. If you had one meal, where would you go? Recommendations?
What part of town? What cuisine? Some suggestions are BLT Steak, Zebra, Ratcliffe on the Green, Bentley's on 27.
We aren't picky. We have a quick meeting in the morning north of the city and couldn't get a return flight until 5pm. We have a car and about 6 hours to fill. We're more interested in a really good meal on the corporate card than where we have to go. Thanks for the help! (and I know this is a food site, but if you have any ideas of anything else to do to kill some time, we'll take them!)
If you're museum people, I'd suggest lunch at Ratcliffe on the Green, then hit a couple of the museums in uptown Charlotte: Levine Museum of the New South, Bechtler Museum of Modern Art, Mint Museum of Craft + Design.
If that doesn't interest you, I'd suggest Lulu for lunch and (depending on the weather) maybe drive over to Freedom Park to walk around a bit then grab a banana shake at Mr. K's.
I would suggest bringing a GPS or renting one- then you can really get around CLT. Since you have plenty of time, I would suggest going to the South Park area, going to Terrace Cafe and having a $2 bloody mary, you have to have the password off of Facebook, as of Jan.22 ($2 Mini Bacon Bloody Mary PASSWORD of the day is Grilled Chicken Cobb). You could eat lunch around South Park, Nobles, would be a good business lunch or Roosters. Afterwards you could go to the mall or bookstore to kill some time. There is also Upstream for seafood.
Around South End area, The Liberty or Copper (Indian).
Lulu's on Central, someone mentioned, great choice.
NODA area, North Davidson, Crepe Cellar, bloody mary at Boudreax's.
What people think of business lunch uptown, expense account: Ratcliff's, Capital Grille, Bentley's on 27th, Morton's, Ruth Chris.
