Gran Gusto atmosphere?

Does anyone know what the atmosphere is like at Gran Gusto on a Saturday night? I have reservations for tomorrow at 6:30 with parents who would generally prefer semi-quiet restaurants and I'm starting to second guess this decision.
Thanks!

Funny, I thought about starting our post on Gran Gusto with, "please, try the food before you walk out because of the decor." The food was divine, the decor needs an HG TV makeover.

There are some photos here. I would say GO and try the Piadina if it is available in the evening. It is wonderful and I don't understand why we don't have at least half of the pizza places serving it.

Penny -- glad your report included mention of the bizarre piped in radio. If the OP asks nicely, perhaps they'll turn it down. I don't mind the cheesy decor (after all, it's that pizza I love) but the music set up is pretty strange.

I agree. At 6:30 on a Saturday night, you should be fine. Get the margherita pizza! YUM!

The restaurant will not be full until 7-7:30pm. And IME, at least half the patrons are over the retirement age, so there's not much rowdiness. I haven't even seen the tables of young Italians get loud in there.

The host is super-gracious and would do everything to make your parents comfortable.

Yeah, I was gonna say, the atmosphere is "old." As in, perhaps awkwardly so if you're under 40.

I was trying to be delicate about it! Someday I plan to be old and still drinking my wine, so.

Anyway, there is nothing cool or edgy about GG, in fact it is a teeny bit corny, but the food is heaven.

"Corny" is a good word--the decor reminds me of a chain restaurant, and the fact that the bathroom is down the hall of the office building doesn't help.

That said, I can't imagine I would like it any better if it was hipped up. Their food is amazing.

The room has a lot of tile (on the floors, etc.) so sound tends to bounce - but it is not a loud place in terms of patrons - so I think you should be fine. There is also a smaller room that might be quieter.
