The previous post on butchers had me thinking: has anyone been to Smokin Iron? My SO has been and left unimpressed..I had great hope for them. Now I am curious as the experience of others.

I live walking distance from Smokin Iron Farms and have been quite often. They do some things really well and other less so. I have got my fresh Thanksgiving + Christmas turkeys from them and think they were extremely good. But the price has risen alot in a few years. I am also a fan of their roasting chickens. Have also got good beef steak.

The thing I purchase the most often are the perogies made by the folks at St. Micheals and sold as Babba's. They are simply the best frozen perogies available anywhere. They are the ones served at Culina.

I have not been as impressed with some of the frozen wrapped meats. Or the smoked meats. Victoria Sausage, which is also nearby, is a far superior smoker. Their triple smoked bacon and smoked pork shop are great.
