Tips for Dining, Eating, and Food Shopping in Manhattan

Drinks in Manhattan (below 72nd street) with fireplace?

I'd like to find a place with a cozy / loungy feel with drinks and nibbles.

    1. Public on Elizabeth betw. Prince and Spring might fit the bill. They have a back room with a cozy fireplace and good food/drinks.

          Are you talking about the Monday Room? It's a wine bar set up kind of like a hybrid between someone's study and a lounge. Great food and wine, don't know if they offer liquor/cocktails. Also the bill can add up quite quickly. It's gorgeous, though, and service is excellent.
