The Coup, White Oak II (Veg vietnamese), Gratitude Cafe, the cafe at Community Natural Foods, and a couple of south Indian places way on the east side of town are options. Somebody posted about a veg Jamaican place on here recently too. There's also Veggie House in a small Chinatown food court but it shares space with a non-veggie kiosk.

There's a place called Buddha's Veggie down by Chinook Centre that has recently started to serve non-veg but they keep all veg/non separate.

Really, Jamaican veg? This I have to try. Do you know where that thread is? I can't find it now that the board has changed.
deceptiontony, I'm afraid purely veg places are almost unheard of in Calgary, except for those mentioned above.

yes- they said "ital jamaican" and it's in forest lawn somewhere. ital does NOT mean Italian.

Calgary is like almost all NA cities- very few PURE veg places, but we are no worse than your average city of a milion in that area. It's COMPLETELY easy to be vegetarian here- I can think of very, very few restos that will not accommodate a veg. What OP wants is not to be around meat, which is a tall order in almost any city.

I think that thread disappeared. Can anyone link to it? or at least remember the name and location of the place? I love me some vegan rastafarian cooking.

+1 for The Coup on 17 ave SW. I really do love my meat but have to admit the dinner I had there a couple of months ago was excellent.
