Cheese D'Lox vs. NYC places

Does anyone know anything about Cheese D'Lox in Brooklyn? I know it has just recently changed management. How does it rate vs the NYC places: Supersol, Bagel basket,Bagels & Co etc... Is there a better place in Bkly to go to, NYC places tend to be very $$$$

    1. I didn't know the management had changed. I don't know how it is under the new management but I think they had the best appetizing anywhere. The store itself wasn't very appetizing looking but the stuff was really good. Prices were the same as everywhere else.

Pomegranate in Flatbush has excellent herrings and smoked fish.

We used them this past summer to cater our daughter's engagement party in Manhattan.
They are much cheaper than Supersol, or any other Manhattan caterer. The food quality was very good, with the exception of the fresh fruit platers. The fruit was not fresh.

Would you not recommend them then? As for the fruit, did you say something to them? Did they acknowledge the mistake? I am not sure that I'd want to use them if they have some flaws.

We deducted money from the final bill and there was no argument.

Tuna salad, carrot salad, egg salad, pasta salad, Israeli salad, mini bagels.
mini danish(very fresh), brownies etc. We live on the UWS and have used Supersol previously for a different evemt. Their food was not as tasty
and they were less than helpful regarding people to set up the event.
