Sushi Las Vegas or other good eats !!!!!!!

I am getting a rare treat, 4 days in vegas without the kids.... I recently moved from So Cal to Western Minn, no good restaurants in our tiny area.... I would love to dine at some good places and esp Sushi.....We are staying at Rio, I know they have that buffet, but thats quanity not necessarily quality. I like most foods, esp Japanese. Thanks !!!!!

  1. Las Vegas has good, but not great, sushi. Okada (Wynn) is my favorite sushi restaurant.

On the other hand, there are some really good non-sushi Japanese restaurants. Raku (off Strip) specializes in robatayaki, with a little bit of everything else. It's relatively inexpensive, and very good. Be sure to make reservations.

For a money-is-no-object meal, try Bar Charlie (located within Restaurant Charlie, at the Palazzo). Open only on Friday and Saturday, it offers Japanese inspired meals that are different from just about anywhere else. It's one of my favorite places in town, but bring a fat wallet.

Sen of Japan is off-strip (but on the Rio side of town) and offers both traditional and new-wave sushi in a warm, low-key atmosphere, for gentler prices than Okada or Nobu:
