I need a suggestion for breakfast in or very near Chelsea Market on a weekday
9:00 Thursday meeting in the market, what do 'hounds suggest? I'm not a fan of Sarabeths, a capp from nineth and a pastry form Amy's? Does JTsell chocolate croissants?
I would avoid Amy's, since their breads are good, but their pastries are unreliable (worst sticky bun ever!). La Bergamote (9th at 20th) and Le Grainne Cafe (9th at 21st) would be my choices.

I love the cherry cream scones from Amy's. Also, there's that place sells clothes and food, 222 or something?...people love their scones but I've never had them. It may just be a weekend thing, though.
La Bergamote it was. Thursday morning at 8:00, snow falling, drinking a good bowl of capp while sitting in front of the window was a nice way to start the day. The chocolate croissant looked identical to the Balthazar version but was much better. While it did not have the size, weight or butteryness of the one baked by Claude, it did have the shatter and was more well done. The only bad news was the croque monsieur. The bread was excellent but there was not enough cheese inside and it did not have bechamel or cheese on top .
Thanks for the suggestion.
I'd recommend Pastis on 9th Ave & Little West 12 street (its about 3 blocks down from Chelsea Market). I don't know your price range but the Full English Breakfast for $14 is a pretty good deal, to me at least, especially at Pastis!
Here's a link to their breakfast menu: http://www.pastisny.com/menus/breakfa...
202 is right next to Chelsea Market and has a pretty good breakfast menu as does the Standard Grill on Washington & Little West 12 St.
I hope this has helped!
