Recommendations near La Valencia Hotel in La Jolla

I'm staying at La Valencia in La Jolla for a few days later this week. I have one free night and one free morning so I am looking for a dinner and breakfast/brunch recommendation within walking distance. I'm already going to George's at the Cove one evening. I'm open on cuisine and price, but would like something fun, not too upscale.

Love La V and the breakfast out on the back patio overlooking the pacific is sublime.
Whaling Bar at La V has long been my boyfriend for many years..clubby old school bar with great dining...burgundy naugahyde, dark lighting and guys in tux's uniforms..they pour one hell of a good drink and you will see lots of celebrities without having all that paparazzi crap hanging out on the sidewalks.
Mex breakfast at Jose Court Room with ocean views and huevos rancheros is quite good...hit it up for either last call or drinks at around 5-6pm..fun time.
Love the Cottage for breakfast..Mission Cup too.
Enjoy Crab Catcher happy hour for the mussels and crab bisque and a couple of martinis.
Nine-Ten at Colonial Inn is great and so is Tapenade for dinner.
Manhattan is one of my fav's for old school Italian..Tommy Lasorda can't be wrong!
Whisk n' ladle gets lots of love on this board and an excellent choice for lunch/dinner.
Marine Room for drinks and app's at the LJ Shores..stunning!

Hotel management company let Manny Silva go at La Valencia, been the maitre d there for over 30 years. His father served in the same capacity before him.

Celebrities recently spotted at La V, Ed Begley Jr., Bill Walton, and Dustin Diamond. Great spot, big fan of Naugahyde. Also 2nd or 3rd the recommendations for Whisk n' Ladle, Manhattan, Nine Ten and Tapenade. Been way too long since I've had a Cannelloni at Manhattan.

Nine-Ten, just down the street from La Valencia has excellent dinners. They also serve breakfast. It's an easy 5 min walk, tops.

I think there is a Pannikin coffee shop somewhere in La Jolla, near La Valencia.

Mission Cup Cafe on Wall St has the best cheap and tasty breakfasts/lunches in La Jolla. Latino-Asian fusion. Stuff like breakfast tamales, grilled marinated tofu and Nutella-walnut pancakes. It's a small hike from La Valencia, but if you're willing to walk to The Cottage, then it's not that much further to go.

Just a point of clarification: Mission Coffee cup is 1 1/2 blocks from La V. But great rec!

Pannikin is on Girard, just south of Pearl. You are probably superimposing it on the Living Room, which is on Prospect near Nine-Ten and La Valencia.

I like Roppongi, Asain Fusian. They have a great AHI STACK. You can eat inside or out, or have drinks by the fire pit.

Grap a coffee and bagel and go down to the cove and sit on a bench and enjoy the ocean, or go down to the shores,

The Crab Catcher on Prospect is very good, they have some great clam chowder here. :)

second whisk n ladle - and i think it might qualify as fun if you try some of their inventive cocktails. they even have a secret flaming monkey rum drink that's crazy!

Manhattan of La Jolla on Fay and Silverado. Old school italian with great steaks. Great little bar you can eat at too.

For breakfast or dinner The Cottage on Fay St. is very nice, reassonable and just a short walk. If you're leaning towards lunch Burger Lounge or El Pescadore are both good.
