Take out for dinner in the French Quarter or nearby

boaviagem Jan 26, 2010 05:22 AM

We are attending a conference and needs to do several hours of preparation for tomorrow's wrap up sessions after today's meetings end.

Does anyone have suggestions on places in the French Quarter or nearby (on the St. Charles streetcar line between Canal and Napolean) that have take out for dinner? A plate would be preferred over a sandwich - we have already had fantastic Po Boys at the Parkway Bakery and Tavern.

I can't think of restaurant in this City that won't supply food for take out, if you need it delivered, that's another story. Speak up if that's case.

No delivery needed - picking up dinner will be my break from work.

Byblos on Magazine has wonderful food. Personally prefer the one on Vets hwy, but that may be too far for you to travel. Middle Eastern food and delicious. Great schwarma plates. In the FQ, Mona Lisa delivers.

Verti-Marte on Royale, AND they deliver. We had Verti-Mart edelivery for a late-night dinner one night during our visit over Christmas, and it was very good. They're on-line, at www.vertimarte.com

100% agree with Verti Mart. The best take out food in the quarter. Not an eat-in place, but delicious for what it is.
