2 Broadway in Pleasantville ...closed

Had not gotten there yet, and guess now I won't be. Drove by over the weekend and it looks like its closed. Rough spot parking wise and I think has struggled with getting good food .
Sad to see another local restaurant close though!

I agree. When it was Strega and the food/atomosphere was good we didn't mind the parking hassle.

Yes. I hear interesting news about that corner--A Mangiare supposedly bought a bigger building downtown and is moving there eventually. Various people have been looking at that space...

truth be told it is not that much of a hassle..some people just lazy i guess..its all about the food, you want it, you go for it

Sorry but I must disagree- we find parking impossible Thu-Sat nights around that intersection- and have also seen someone loose their side mirror when they double parked to get take out. It can get very crowded with cars- we either go for lunch or during a week night.

ok, i agree we disagree, park down pleasantiville road, walk 100 yds if need be- thats too much?? thx

      2. Actually, I don't blame people for not wanting to walk in that area. It is a very dangerous intersection. People blast down p'ville rd like it is a racetrack.

        1. does anyone know what happened to the guys that originally owned Spiga... i know at one time their chef left to open up Frodo's (what a horrible name for a restaurant), and then they sold... as soon as they left, the food and service went seriously down hill. i always wondered if they opened up somewhere else.

You mean Strega? The chef is Daniel Petrilli, and he never sold Frodo's. They only changed the name to Haven. I think his food there gets better and better. They continue to make slight improvements to the decor, he is on track with the new artwork on display. They do need to work on the service though. One server there is great- the rest, not so good. However it does not deter us from visiting as often as we can.

Dan did not originally own Spiga. That was Joe Bueti and the chef was Frank Bueti. Then Dan took over then left and opened Frodo's - now Haven - with George Flay.

did Joe and Frank every open any other restaurants?

                1. re: scut54

Frank owns Route 6 Wine in Mahopac - Baldwin Place. Joe opened121 after Strega and sold it a couple of years ago. He has now bought the old Woody's on Main in Mt Kisco and should be opening that in the late spring. I am looking forward to that!

          2. i cant believe people wouldnt goto a restaurant because they think its dangerous to walk around--what r u people like 100 years old. when its red U stop and when its green u can go--not that difficult. im assuming u people dont get to NYC that often

Exactly. And there's no right on red allowed at the southwest corner right in front of the restaurant. It's a typical "4 corners" that so many towns have. Exactly how many people have been hit by a car in that "dangerous" intersection?

            2. We bought a $100 gift certificate to this place...are we just out the $$? Anyone know how to reach the owner(s)?
