Best truffle oil

I have bought truffle oil several times and been disappointed that I could not clears discern the truffle scent or taste. I know some truffle oil is not made from actual truffles but I am not as concerned about the authenticity as the I am about being knocked over the head by the strength of the odor and flavor. Any suggestions?

    1. Having worked around truffle oil, canned truffle, and fresh truffle for awhile (more than any home cook ever will) I think I'm just one of those people who can't get knocked over the head by the smell. I don't really smell anything.

        1. Best of the fake: Boscovivo
Best of the real: Da Rosario

Both heat and time will erode the "truffle" flavor.
The fake black truffle oil has half the flavoring of the fake white truffle oil - although the ingredient is the same), so go with the white if you choose this route.
