The secrete good eats of PR

So my girlfriend and i have been going to Puerto Rico for the last 4 years utilizing the families time share. Every year it's the same food, now don't get me wrong it's GOOD food but we tend not to exit the San Juan Hotel for dinner. We do the Palm and that amazing sushi place in the hotel along with the other great restaurants in the hotel. This year i want to spread my ladies wings and get some traditional fare. I'm looking for the "hole in the wall" places that the locals go to, to get away from the tourists. I'm looking for good Puerto Rican food. Money really isn't an issue, the good places usually aren't the expensive ones anyway! So anyone got some suggestions. Oh we are going around Feb.

    1. Vegie, where is Vegie Garden...Carolina?

    2. Pitbull, where are you staying? Metropole has local food and is next to the Ritz in Isla Verde as is Mi Casita. Casa Dante in Carolina has local fare. SOO many in OSJ too...

      1. For hole in the wall, good Puerto Rican food, try La Casita Blanca in Santurce. The owner / manager is Jesus and very nice.
