shops selling local cheeses at yonge and eglinton

I'm looking for shops at or around yonge and eglinton that sell local cheeses...any suggestions?

Thanks everyone! i need to get it today and Culinarium is closed Sundays, Mondays and Tues. I had heard similar things about Cheese Emporium not selling local cheeses (and being proud of it!) but i'll check them out anyway, as well as Healthy Butcher.

Might want to give Leslieville Cheesemart a call and see what they stock. Either that or hit SLM...

If 'local' is what you're looking for, you ought to find what you want at Culinarium on Mt. Pleasant, between Eglinton and Soudan. They don't specialize in cheese, but their philosophy is to sell 'local' products, including cheese. There is also a well-stocked cheese store on the corner of Eglinton and Mt. Pleasant, but I don't know which local cheeses they might carry.

That place at the corner of Eglinton and Mount Pleasant is Cheese Emporium. I've only popped in once and didn't notice any local cheeses. It's mostly European -- French and Italian -- unless I missed something.

They do have local, just not a great selection but the staff is really helpful and knowledgeable. Healthy Butcher on Eg might be a better choice (tho they will also have a small selection)

Also might want to try the 'Loblaw' @ yonge and yonge if that isn't to far north, I have noticed Loblaws really adding more local cheeses to their stores, bought a chunk of blue haze from one recently.

I went into the Cheese Emporium shortly after they opened and asked whether they had any local cheeses. They disdainfully told me that, no, they do not carry local cheese. I've never returned.

I might be mistaken but I have seen Ontario cheese there before? Definitely some Quebec stuff in the past (I know not it not that 'local')

Perhaps they've mellowed in their original disdain for local cheese. I think it was actually "Canadian" cheese that I asked for when I went in there. It has been over two years, though.
