We went to Luz (177 Vanderbilt Ave.) tonight for dinner. Arrived around 7:30; the room was pleasantly crowded, but there were a few tables available, and we were seated promptly. Service was friendly and attentive (the bus boy has been there for a long time, and is really nice). Had a pitcher of sangria, which we really enjoyed. We shared a salad (hearts of palm, mango, avocado, grape tomatoes and red onions dressed with ginger-orange vinaigrette) which was very tasty, and then my husband had the salmon and I had the chupe (shrimp chowder in a saffron broth). Both were delicious, and very good value.
We've been going intermittently for several years and always enjoy the food and service. Just wanted to give them a shout-out for maintaining quality and service.
