BPA in cans

With the recent concerns from the FDA about BPA in the linings of cans and the potential for causing cancer in canned products, are you concerned about BPA in beer cans? So far, as far as I can tell, the emphasis seems to be on baby food. But if you currently drink beer from cans, will you avoid them because of BPA in the liners? I'd like this discussion to focus on the BPA issue rather than the merits of canned beer in general.

  1. I've been told by a contact at one of my favorite breweries that their cans are 1/1000th of FDA threshold—I do not believe the level of BPA in beer cans is as high as in the cans that hold tomatoes or other acidic foods.

    1. OK so no BPA to worry about, but has anyone noticed a strange taste in some cans of beer that I call (don't laugh) a taste like the smell of baby powder? I often can't finish the beer when I get this flavour, and don't believe I've ever encountered it in bottled beer.
