dynamite desserts in Ft. Lauderdale?

Are there any veritable pastry chefs working in Ft. Lauderdale? I'm tired of key lime pie and carrot cake.

Croissant Time on Federal Hwy is probably the only place that fits your description.

I paid another visit to popular Croissant Time recently. The quiche was so mediocre I dropped half of it in the garbage. My recollection is that the croissants are not oo-la-la either.

I don't know about the quiche, but I disagree with you re. the croissants. The are just like Paris!

I've been to Croissan'Time three times and tried a number of their offerings (although not the croissants). Everything in the shop looks good, but nothing I've had there has been good.

Probably not what you are looking for, but maybe a step up form key lime pie and carrot cake anyway. Pan'e Dolci has a small selection of sweet and savory pastries. I like their chocolate mousse cakes and danishes in particular. The selection is much smaller than what you would find at Croissan'Time.
